Being a creative artist has been a life long journey, only the medium has changed. From the concept idea into the finished piece of jewelry is the most rewarding and fulfilling part. It is a journey of discovery and surprise. Taking an idea and either creating a mold for the piece or just begin forming the fine silver or polymer clay.
A love of combining semi-precious stones, pearls, lamp-worked beads and polymer clay with the metal clay keeps me creating. Much of my work is inspired by nature and the beauty of the world around me, which evokes a spontaneous and creative spirit that strives to reach out to people who can appreciate my work. Creating a beautiful object is not sufficient by itself, only when those responses are realized by another human being.
I have studied with some of the masters of polymer clay and metal clay in the United States today. I am a founding member of our local polymer clay guild, Smoky Mountain Polymer Clay Guild, a member of Blue Ridge Polymer Clay Guild, Asheville North Carolina, The National Polymer Clay Guild and The National Precious Metal Clay Guild.
I have been working with Precious Metal Clay for five years and have my second certification from PMC Connection. I have worked in polymer clay for fifteen years.
